Julie CoreyWORCESTER– A woman who authorities believe faked her own pregnancy has been charged with killing her pregnant friend, cutting the friend’s baby girl from her womb and kidnapping the baby.
Julie Corey was initially charged with kidnapping after authorities found her and the baby in a homeless shelter in Plymouth, N.H., in July.
She was indicted Thursday on charges of murder and kidnapping by a Worcester County grand jury.
DNA tests confirmed that the baby was cut from the womb of Darlene Haynes, who was found dead in her Worcester home two days earlier. Haynes was eight months pregnant when she was killed.
Haynes and her boyfriend were friends with Corey and her boyfriend.
